I don’t know if I’m “right”. I just know so many photographers use the word “lifestyle” and I think we all have different ideas of what it means. I’m just suggesting we define “lifestyle photography” a little better in the photography community so we don’t confuse clients. But how should it be defined? Maybe it’s OK to think of it more loosely?

I’m STILL getting goose bumps over here, after looking at these! My favorite is the one of them sitting and the light shining through the amazing tree limbs above them… that’s where the goose bumps started

I LOVE this! Love the concept, love the pictures, love the moments.. it’s truly a beautiful thing to see. I really feel as though these pics show an accurate depiction of Sarah’s family life-it’s almost a little too intimate! Like you’re peering in the window of their house. (And who doesn’t love to do that! LOL) Thank you for sharing the specialness.

Danielle, to me this is lifestyle photography exactly!! I was not looking for a pic where you captured us all at our best angles, smiling, and looking at the camera. That type of photography has its place and I do like it. But this lifestyle session that you did for us that day captured us. There are so many little things about these pics that maybe you didn’t know but that is so much us. For example Ethan deciding that a blue frog had to accompany his blue candyland man around the board, can you tell what his favorite color is? I love how Jack is hanging off the corner of the table, he is such a climber! i love the rolling pin, and ice cream cone playdough accessories you captured Jack with, those are 2 of my kids favs! I love how Mike wouldn’t take his socks off for the shoot, too afraid to reveal his frankenstein toes. I love how when Mike is scooping out the real ice cream for Ethan, that Ethan is in mid sentence, probably demanding that he gets more than Jack or somethign like that, and love Mikes smile, he is probably laughing at Ethans comment. I also love all the expressions you cought from us, particularly the silly ones from the kids. And last I love that you captured me doing what i do with my boys, this is my most important job and I love how you captured it! Perhaps I should have asked you to take pics of me folding laundry, picking up toys, and doing the dishes too! lol
